Happy First Day of June! No Mushrooms Still? Why?

Happy first day of June! Officially halfway through the year. Time doesn't seem to like to slow down. It ramps up its speed faster and faster each year. I want to leave a question for you in this first paragraph. When did you realize you only have one life, and what did you do after that realization? I hope you all have a memorable day, week, month, and year for the rest of your life.

The yellow liquid inside the bag is what the mushrooms extreats when it is being innoculated.

Wow, first of June and still no mushroom!? I thought I would have mushrooms a month ago, and it was kind of disappointing, but it is all explainable. So many things came up, and so many things had to get done even before substrate could be made. Finally, I am happy to say that everything is fully operational. We have all the steps done to get mushrooms. Of course, there will always be tinkering and things that need to be changed down the road, but I can have mushrooms growing with the things I have done.

I also have made another huge mistake, and I regret it. The majority of my spawn is not usable anymore. At least 50% of my spawn bags have started pinning mushrooms. When I put them into bags, either they begin to decompose or have very little growth in the substrate bags. Instead of making eight bags of each genetic, I will only make four and start a four-week rotation on each genetic. I will have to figure out how many weeks/days it takes to innoculate and adjust for each genetic.

I want to end this blog by saying the question I left with you at the beginning of this blog. When did you realize you only have one life, and what did you do after that realization? Answer that question wherever you click to read this blog on my Instagram or Facebook. I love all the feedback I get from these blogs, and I love the community with this business.
